Bonsai launches Bonsai Health - with Bettina Mertens-Danowski

- Bonsai Research brings another proven health expert on board with Bettina Mertens-Danowski.

- The research specialist - traditionally strong in the health sector with its pharmacy panel, among other things - combines the activities in the new unit Bonsai Health.

- An important component of Bonsai Health continues to be access to relevant sales data via the Bonsai partner NOVENTI.

Hamburg/Bremen. 7 June 2022. With Bettina Mertens-Danowski as Head of Bonsai Health, Bonsai further strengthens its expertise in the pharmaceutical and healthcare market - and now officially launches its new unit Bonsai Health.

Bettina Mertens-Danowski has already worked closely with Bonsai on the topic of pharmacy market research for 15 years - in her previous job at Kantar Health (previously TNS Healthcare). After a short engagement at the analysis company IQVIA, she now joins Bonsai to establish and expand the topic of health as an independent area together with her colleagues.

"As in other areas - especially shopper and media research - the potential for us lies in combining sales data with individual behavioural and survey data," says Dirk Hamann, member of the Executive Board at Bonsai , outlining the strategy of Bonsai Health: "With Bettina Mertens-Danowski, the right woman comes at the right time. She not only knows the different disciplines and is well networked in the pharmaceutical industry. She also comes to us with a lot of energy and the desire to turn her own visions into reality."

"The healthcare market is undergoing massive change. The change in the customer journey that we have been observing for years - faster, more focused, more digital - will have far-reaching consequences for the industry," adds Jens Krüger, CEO at Bonsai: "The patient journey will experience another digitalisation boost with the introduction of the e-prescription and the electronic patient file." With NOVENTI, the leading provider of merchandise management and billing systems in the health sector, Bonsai has long had a strong partner at its side - and access to relevant sales data.

"Bonsai is in a great position in the health sector, perhaps better than some larger providers. To deepen the know-how in the analysis of pharmacy sales and pharmacy panel data that has grown over the years, and now to combine it with other disciplines such as qualitative innovation research in the Bonsai Lab, but also with social media results such as the value index, offers so many new opportunities to do research for our clients," Bettina Mertens-Danowski explains her move to Bonsai: "And I already know some of my colleagues very well and can therefore assess what we will get out of the topic together."

About the Bonsai Pharmacy Panel

Bonsai can access the sales figures of health brands and products via the merchandise management system - and combine them with survey data via its panel of 2,400 pharmacies in Germany. This enables detailed analyses down to the level of the individual pharmacy. These results are often supplemented by store and consultation tests as well as advertising impact analyses and qualitative research.
