Bremen/Hamburg, July 31, 2025. Bonsai Research is paving the way for a future and a new home for the renowned portfolio as well as for parts of the EARSandEYES team. EARSandEYES GmbH is ceasing operations today following its bankruptcy.

Many clients are making the switch to Bonsai so they can continue their projects with the team they’re familiar with. As a result, Bonsai is gaining new clients. At the same time, it is strengthening its partnerships with existing clients, as some of them had previously commissioned both companies to conduct different studies.

“It’s a great opportunity to take over this team and the tools from EARSandEYES,” says Bonsai CEO Jens Krüger: “Bonsai is thus rounding out its portfolio in the area of brand and marketing research.” In particular, concept research (including the benchmark database for concept tests), tracking studies, and the innovative shelf-test tools can be seamlessly integrated into Bonsai ’s existing offerings, ensuring their continued economic success.

“We’re pleased that we can seamlessly continue our existing projects with our clients under the Bonsai umbrella,” emphasizes Frank Lüttschwager, the former managing director of EARSandEYES, who will be joining the Bonsai team starting tomorrow: “This ensures that the tools and core competencies we’ve built up and developed over the past few years will remain available to the market.” Along with Frank Lüttschwager, Leonid Rubinstein and Nathan Natschke, among others, will be moving to Bonsai on August 1, 2025.

With this acquisition, Bonsai Research is consistently continuing to implement its growth strategy. Over the past three years, the divisions Bonsai Lab ( Bonsai ’s qualitative research), Bonsai Health, Bonsai Future, and Bonsai Public have been established and expanded with additional staff. In addition, the company developed its own marketing solution, FRAG BonsAI, which analyzes the behavior of 20 million online users in real time.

“The opportunity to acquire parts of EARSandEYES came at exactly the right time,” emphasizes Jens Krüger: “The expansion of the ‘ Bonsai ’ divisions, the successful integration of ISM Global Dynamics (2023), and parts of VR Insight (2024) have laid a solid foundation for us to further expand our business with the EARSandEYES team and tools.”
