Alexandra von Cukrowicz becomes Head of Bonsai Lab

Alexandra von Cukrowicz heads qualitative research at Bonsai Research

  • Top personnel: Alexandra von Cukrowicz will (further) develop innovative research approaches as Head of Bonsai Lab

  • Bonsai wins the previous head of qualitative research Hamburg/Frankfurt from Kantar

  • The Bonsai Lab is already the fifth area that Bonsai Research will significantly expand in 2021.

Hamburg/Bremen, 04.05.2021 The consumer and retail specialist Bonsai Research wins Alexandra von Cukrowicz, 48, as the new Head of Bonsai Lab. The sociology graduate was previously responsible for Kantar's qualitative research department in Hamburg and Frankfurt. She has also been responsible for a number of global clients over the past ten years.

"With Alexandra von Cukrowicz, we were able to bring on board our absolute dream candidate for the management of the Bonsai Lab," comments Jens Krüger, CEO of Bonsai, on the latest appointment.

Alexandra von Cukrowicz sees her start at Bonsai Research as an exciting development task: " Bonsai is not only about developing and expanding classic qualitative methods. We want the Bonsai Lab to be understood as a creative space in which we try out new things," says the new Bonsai Lab director: "We think crosswise and in cooperation in order to develop innovative research approaches. Our methods are diverse - co-creation, community research, social media listening and above all the integrated research approaches between analogue and digital that are possible at Bonsai appealed to me personally."

With the strategy change initiated at the beginning of 2020, Bonsai is focusing on expanding test market, retail and shopper research under the internal programme name "Data + X". Especially in the area of innovation, in product and brand development, the company has positioned itself much more broadly with several new additions in the first quarter of 2021. "The expansion of qualitative research in the Bonsai Lab is so important for us because it is becoming increasingly relevant for our customers," Krüger emphasises: "Today, more than ever, it is about understanding decisions within an increasingly fragmented customer journey. Therefore, the expansion in this area is only logical".

At the beginning of 2021, Ina Komischke had already joined the Bonsai Lab as a Client Partner (MORE). You can find further information on all personnel in 2021 in the Press area of Bonsai
